The History of the Dennis Community
In 1892, after a bridge was built across the Brazos River, Judge N. M. Dennis, a Parker County lawyer and farmer, developed the community to serve the farmers and ranchers of the area. The Dennis Post Office was opened in 1895. It is also home to SugarTree Golf Club. Dennis is located 32 miles (51 km) southwest of Fort Worth and is served by the Brock Independent School District. Several of the residents of Dennis are now working with the residents of Brock and Brock west to incorporate to help protect and keep local control of our community and way of life.
